One important part of our recovery is to serve others in their spiritual process of recovery. Here are several areas for you to considering volunteering your time and talents into:
AUDIO & VIDEO:
• 5:30-7:30pm Wednesdays
• Adjust microphone, monitor, and house speaker volumes during rehearsal
• Record testimonies and teachings
• Make any necessary adjustments to sound levels during big group
• Prepare worship slides to be used during big group meeting
• Run appropriate slides throughout the evening
PRAYER TEAM:
• 5:30-6:15pm Wednesdays in room 136
• Meet to pray over CR each week & those attending, in general
• Pray for specific needs of folks while keeping confidentiality
• Pray through Scripture & God’s Promises
• Many styles of prayer are welcome
CR INSIDE:
• Times vary. Can be ongoing or a 1-time commitment
• Attend & help with a CR Inside Large Group/Open Share Group
• Co-lead or Lead a “Life’s Healing Choices” Study in a Prison or Jail
• Co-lead or Lead a Step Study inside a prison
• Mentor Released Inmates as they transition into a CR after their release
• Reply to letters sent by inmates
DINING ROOM CLEAN-UP:
• 6:15-7:00pm Wednesdays
• Clean up the dining room after dinner while enjoying great fellowship
• Build comradery amongst other CR folks
• Laugh a lot
SUNDAY MORNING INFO BOOTH:
• 8:15am to 9am, 10:15am to 11am, 12pm to 12:30pm Sundays only.
• Be a smiling face to someone in need.
• Be that first contact of inspiration.
• Be ready to give an answer of hope and change to someone hurting.
• Freely give back what was freely given to you.
• Show the Church you are proud to be part of CR.
DINING ROOM SET-UP:
• 4-5:00pm Wednesdays
• Put table cloths on tables
• Set up tables with all of the serving items
• Make the coffee & fill up all of the other beverage containers
• Set out the Chaffing Dishes and light the sterno cans
GREETER TEAM:
• 5:30-6:30pm Wednesdays
• Hand out flyers or put on chairs in large room
• Smile & greet people for CR
• Steer Newcomers towards info table &/or answer questions
• Option of eating dinner at 5p
MUSIC/STAGE SET UP & TEAR DOWN:
• 5:00-5:30pm and 8:30-9:00pm Wednesdays
• Heavy lifting is involved (50 lb monitors) to set out
• Set out mics, stands, and drums, etc
• Hook up monitors and all gear
• Put everything away after Small Groups.
Requires attention to detail and consistency for set and tear down
COOKING & KITCHEN PREP:
• 2:30-5:30pm Wednesdays
• Free Dinner Provided
• Bake desserts for Solid Rock
• Prepare all items including salads & vegetables
• Assist in cooking
• Set out food in dining room
• Clean up kitchen
• Assist with other duties, as needed
SOLID ROCK CLEAN-UP:
• 8:30-9:30pm Wednesdays
• Bus the tables
• Wash the dishes
• Dry and put away dishes
• Take out the trash
• Sweep and clean the floors
INFO & SALES TABLE:
• Set up at 5:00pm, tear down at 8:45pm Wednesdays
• Put up the signs outside and inside
• Set out all of the literature & products that are for sale
• Set out the pamphlets that are free
• With a friendly smile help guide folks to the info they are seeking
• Put it all away at the end of the night
