Crossroads

Prayer – Crossroads

God,
Tonight we come to the crossroads in our recoveries.  We now begin to focus on taking stock of ourselves on a daily basis – taking a daily inventory – and on the wise advice we receive in 1 Corinthians 10:12 – “So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall.”
May we never forget the work we have already done to get to this point, and may we be ever vigilant to never allow the enemy to gain a foothold in our lives ever again.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Grace

Prayer – Grace

Heavenly Father,
We thank You and praise You for the incredible free gift of Your grace, and for the confidence we have to be able to rejoice in our weakness, knowing that Your power is made perfect in us through that weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).  May we turn to You in all things – not to our destructive former (and current) hurts, habits, and hang-ups – knowing that we can do all things through your Son, Jesus Christ, who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13).

In Your Son’s precious name we pray, Amen.

Prayer of the Week

God,

Tonight, as we pass the half-way point in our annual review of the 25 lessons in Celebrate Recovery, we note with joy how far You’ve taken us already. As You prepare us to admit the exact nature of our wrongs – to ourselves, to You, and to someone we trust, we rely heavily on the promise of James 5:16 – “Confess your sins to each other, and pray for each other, so that you may be healed.”

What an incredible gift it is to sinners like us to know that, through sincere confession and prayer, we can experience the power of Your ability to heal us from all of our past transgressions. We are both humbled and grateful for this gift, and we thank You and praise You for placing people in our lives from whom we can draw the support we need to take this life-changing step along our personal roads to recovery.

In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.
